Eden Hazard has said that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was wrong to let Kevin de Bruyne leave Stamford Bridge.

The 23-year old left Chelsea in January 2014 after failing to nail regular place in Mourinho’s side and joined Germany outfit Wolfsburg.

The Belgium international has taken Bundesliga by storm which has seen him linked with a return to the Premier League with Chelsea rivals, Manchester United interested.

De Bruyne has scored 14 goals and chalked up an impressive 24 assists and Hazard feels Mourinho made a mistake.

Hazard told L’Equipe: "He is a great player. Mourinho decided to let him go and not play him.

"It was not my decision, even though I know very well that he could play at Chelsea because he has tremendous qualities.

"I think at Chelsea, you have more pressure than Wolfsburg. It's a shame he's gone but he'll have a successful career."
