Arsenal have received huge boost ahead of their mouth watering Premier League clash with Liverpool, on Saturday, after defender Mathieu Debuchy revealed he is back in contention after three months on the sidelines.

The French international has suffered two long term injuries since he joined the Gunners in the summer from Newcastle United in a £12m deal.

He has not played a first-team match since dislocating his shoulder against Stoke City in early January.

However, the 30-year old was given a run-out alongside Mikel Arteta, Jack Wilshere Abou Diaby and Mathieu Flamini as an Arsenal XI beat Brentford 4-0 in a friendly on Tuesday.

“So happy to be back. Thank you everyone for your support.” He tweeted.

This is welcome news to the Gunners as his experience will be crucial in the top four race with eight matches left to play.
